Most pet products travel a long way to reach you, use more water than they need to, and come wrapped in plastic that goes straight to landfill. We wanted to do this differently from the start.
90% Less Water Than Soil Farming
In the UAE, fresh water is energy-intensive to produce. Most of it comes from desalination. Hydroponic growing systems recirculate water in a closed loop, using up to 90% less than traditional soil farming. It's a significant difference in a region where every liter matters.
Grown Here, Not Shipped In
Air-freighting pet products from overseas adds a real carbon cost. All Sprouties grass is grown locally in the UAE, with most deliveries covering under 15 km from farm to door. That means fresher grass and a fraction of the transport emissions you'd get from an imported product.
No Pesticides, No Synthetic Fertilizers
Hydroponic systems grow in water, not soil, which eliminates the need for synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Your cat gets clean, chemical-free greens, and there's no agricultural runoff going back into the environment. It's cleaner for everyone involved.
Less Plastic, More Thought
We've tried to reduce waste at every step, not just in how we grow but in how we deliver.
